Derek Blount joined PSSI Global Services in 2023 when he and his longtime business partner, Don Daseke, invested in the television broadcast company. Prior to PSSI, Derek began his professional career in the world of corporate banking, advising businesses across a wide spectrum of industries. This included corporate lending roles with JPMorgan Chase and international banking syndicate Credit Agricole.
Derek then transitioned to the “other side of the table” through an executive leadership role with Daseke, Inc. [Nasdaq: DSKE], the largest flatbed and specialized transportation company in North America. With Daseke, Derek oversaw acquisitions and business integration as the company more than doubled in size to $1.7 billion in revenue and roughly 7,000 employees. Additionally, Derek later served as Chief Executive Officer of CASPR Technologies during a time of hyper-growth for the early-stage environmental health tech company.
At PSSI, Derek works closely with the executive team in matters of strategic growth, profitability, and financial management.

Derek is an award-winning author. His work includes the popular “Hostile Takeover Thrillogy” consisting of the novels Hostile Takeover, Second Son and Final Reckoning.
Derek is a member of American MENSA. His work as an author has been featured in MENSA Magazine.
Derek’s first job was picking up used cable zip-ties from the install-bay and parking lot of his family’s communications business. He was 5 years old and earned one penny per zip-tie.
