It’s a busy weekend for PSSI out West. All of our Western trucks and engineers are booked solid for these exciting live events:
- We’re setting up for a big fight in Indio, California, at the Fantasy Springs Casino. We have two trucks, two project managers and five engineers on-site for Vargas vs. Berchelt. We are the primary transmission providers for the HBO broadcast and worldwide distribution, and we are providing ringside commentary services for Japanese, Mexican and Argentinian broadcasters.
- We’re in Vegas for another big fight on Saturday night: Frampton vs. Santa Cruz at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. We have two trucks, two engineers and a project manager on-site for Showtime and international licensees around the world.
- Sunday is a big day for live television in Los Angeles. We’ll have two trucks on-site in West Hollywood for the live finale of Comedy Central’s “Roast Battle.”
- Just down the street, we will be providing transmission and project management services for Turner and dozens of international licensees at the 23rd Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards, live from the Shrine Auditorium. The red carpet show begins at 5:30 p.m. ET, followed by the awards ceremony at 8 p.m. sharp.
- A little farther up the road, we’ve got more basketball. We’re in Reno, where the University of Nevada hosts New Mexico on CBS SportsNetwork.
- Still farther north, we’ve got some high school basketball in the mix. Our Seattle truck and engineer will be parked at Garfield High School for ESPN’s broadcast of the Nathan Hale Raiders vs. the Garfield Bulldogs.
There’s also plenty going on across the rest of the country. We’ve got a full schedule of MMA, wrestling and even more basketball:
- We’re there for a UFC Fight Night at the Pepsi Center in Denver on Saturday night.
- Bellator 171 is at the Kansas Star Casino in Mulvane, Kansas, and so are we. Our C32 truck and CK35 mobile teleport are on-site for domestic and international distribution of this event. From there, both trucks and engineers head toward Texas to get ready for the Super Bowl in Houston.
- Our CK30 WWE truck is already in Texas for back-to-back-to-back-to-back wrestling events. It’s NXT Live in San Antonio on Saturday, Royal Rumble PPV on Sunday, WWE Raw in Laredo on Monday, and WWE Smackdown in Corpus Christi on Tuesday. It’s a busy stretch for our WWE team!
- C12 and Todd Harvey are trying to keep warm in East Lansing, Michigan, where we’ll be transmitting the big Michigan vs. Michigan State game Sunday on CBS.
- We have more college hoops in Philadelphia; Cleveland; Kent, Ohio; the Bronx; Washington, D.C.; and Kingston, Rhode Island.
- We’re also looking forward to some NBA basketball on Monday night. The Celtics host the Pistons at TD Garden, live on TNT.
Last but not least, Senior Engineer Jim Flowers and Senior Project Manager Keith Valeri are at the Mall of Asia in Manila, Philippines, setting up for the Miss Universe competition. It’s a long series of flights and several days of setup to get this show to air on Fox this Sunday night.
