It’s the calm before the storm as PSSI Global Services preps for total coverage of the NCAA Tournament. Our only game this weekend is in Pittsburgh, where we’re providing transmission services for CBS at the Atlantic 10 Tournament. PSSI Global Services will be there until the final buzzer on Sunday, when one lucky team punches their ticket to the Big Dance.
Across the country, our engineers are prepping their trucks with all the equipment our shipping department has been busy assembling. In just a few days, we’ll be in place at all the regional tournament sites: Dayton, Ohio; Orlando, Florida; Buffalo, New York; Salt Lake City, Utah; Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Tulsa, Oklahoma; Greenville, South Carolina; Indianapolis, Indiana; and Sacramento, California. We’ll be there for all the pre- and post-game coverage, press conferences and, of course, the games themselves. It’s going to be an exciting couple of weeks.
That’s not all for PSSI Global Services, of course.
We set up this Saturday at the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill Club and Lodge near Orlando, Florida. We have one of our top engineers, Blake Blomstrom, getting geared up for more than a week of Golf Channel news and tournament coverage of this great event.
About a hundred miles to the west, engineer Kevin Spangler will be wrapping up a solid week of Golf Channel transmissions at the Valspar Championship at the Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club.
The sun’s shining just as brightly on PSSI Global Services in Arizona, where we continue our transmissions of spring training baseball. This Sunday we’ll be in Phoenix for the Chicago White Sox and in Mesa for the Oakland Athletics.
It may be a little less sunny and warm, but we’re also out in full force at the Turning Stone Resort Casino in Verona, New York. We have our CK25 dual-antenna mobile teleport and our K18 truck on-site for David Lemieux vs. Curtis Stevens live on HBO and around the world. Our own Lemieux — Mike Lemieux, that is — is our engineer in charge of the event, where we also have two project managers, three uplink engineers and an audio technician getting ready for the big fight on Saturday night. We provide redundant transmission paths for HBO, worldwide distribution of the undercards and main event, and ringside commentary services for Argentinian and Japanese broadcasters. PSSI/Strategic Television is a total solutions provider for these big events.
It’s also a big weekend in our own backyards. Our NASCAR team is setting up at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway for the Kobalt 400 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race. From there we caravan down the road to Phoenix International Raceway for next weekend’s big race.
In Los Angeles we are providing transmission services for the 2017 Kids’ Choice Awards, live on Nickelodeon Saturday night. Then on Sunday we begin setup and testing for The Bachelor: After the Final Rose live following the season finale of The Bachelor on ABC Monday night.
Last but not least, we have a senior engineer and senior project manager in Fortaleza, Brazil, for UFC Fight Night 106. PSSI Global Services is teaming up yet again with the great transmission engineers at Casablanca Online to provide worldwide distribution of the fight.
