PSSI has been involved with the Super Bowl for many years. This year – for the 50th Super Bowl – PSSI provided more technical support than ever, working closely with CBS, CBS Sports Network, NFL Network and DirecTV to provide coverage of everything from the Super Bowl City buildup events and NFL Honors presentation to the big game itself.
Event Highlights
A total of six trucks, as well as PSSI’s new mobile studio bus customized for DirecTV, contributed to successfully meeting the demanding logistical challenges of this high-profile event and ensuring seamless coverage from start to finish.
- Two trucks were stationed at the stadium to provide complex multi-network game coverage, with PSSI’s flagship mobile teleport, CK35, operating as the primary truck and C15 acting as a backup.
- CK25, another mobile teleport truck, was stationed in Super Bowl City – the hub of programming surrounding the Super Bowl – to route and transmit feeds from NFL Network, CBS and CBS Sports Network.
- Three Ku-band trucks provided additional transmission and production services, with two stationed at the team hotels and a third roaming to capture additional footage as needed.
- The mobile studio bus’ transmission and production capabilities were utilized for several live news events and commentary shows.
