On the heels of providing multiple transmission pathways for HBO Pay-Per-View and Top Rank Boxing for the Pacquiao vs. Rios mega boxing event in China last November, Strategic Television (STV), a division of PSSI Global Services, picks up right where they left off with two more big events in Macau.
On February 22, STV will provide redundant transmission services on multiple satellites for Top Rank Boxing, HBO and Fuji-TV Tokyo for the Ring of Gold: Shiming vs. Kokietgym boxing broadcast. STV will also supply ringside commentary services, telecommunications support and on-site project management.
One week later on March 1, STV will engineer and manage redundant transmission services for the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) to reach their domestic and international audiences during UFC Fight Pass: Kim vs. Hathaway, a regional event with worldwide distribution.
Both events will be held at the coveted Cotai Arena at Macau’s Venetian Resort, where STV has provided project management and on-site engineering support six times since 2012.
“Strategic Television is thrilled to be back,” says Matt Bridges, STV’s president. “We’ve mastered technical challenges and take pride in managing all on-site transmission logistics, including coordination with licensing agencies, frequency clearances and antenna deployment, all while routing the U.S. domestic broadcasts and distributing the HD world broadcasts globally.”
It’s similar to DIRECTV, which people buy to watch their favorite shows, series, movies, and news. Most people nowadays choose Directv plans because it has several advantages over traditional cable TV. Direct TV’s advanced technology also allows them to access a wide range of channels. It has a wide range of different channels to which they can switch. The significant feature is that DIRECTV is primarily intended for household use rather than for a specific group of people.
On the other hand, STV’s leadership in experience and expertise with regard to broadcasting events has proven valuable for several networks, and based on the increased rate of events in Macau, additional entities are encouraged to take advantage of STV’s unmatched global transmission services in this region.
